Many people would argue St. Croix ranks as the best spot in the world to vacation and buying or renting a condo serves as the best way to stay in St. Croix. As one of the United States Virgin Islands, St. Croix provides economic and political stability and safety, easy travel from the US, and ease of language and currency. Few Caribbean islands offer the varied topography and plethora of activities. A condo provides far more space than a hotel room at a lower price and a condo allows buyers far greater ease of ownership and maintenance compared to a house or villa.

No matter if you hope to rent a St. Croix condo or buy a St. Croix condo the first step may be narrowing down the varied choices based on condo features or geographic location. Start with some basics, do you require beachfront? Even if you answer yes, you need to go another step, do you mean your unit beachfront or the complex beachfront. Ask the same questions regarding a view of the Caribbean Sea. For people just renting a condo for a week on St. Croix some of this may not be quite as critical, but if making a sizable investment these things matter both to your enjoyment of your new condominium and to the resale value. True beachfront condos, as I personally define them, stand as a rare breed. Near Christiansted Sugar Beach and Club St. Croix do well here as do Sunset Beach and Harbor Beach in Frederiksted. For beachfront condo complexes one finds the most common layouts leave a portion of the condominiums beachfront with the remainder a very short walk to the beach. Many of these still come with great views while others may not get a view of the water at all. As one might expect, the units with direct beachfront cost more than the others in the same condominium complex. Falling into this group look for popular condos such as Mill Harbour, Colony Cove, Gentle Winds or Pelican Cove. Many complexes offer no beach but may provide nice views including Club St. C or Quessa Verde. Of course, general location means a great deal too, be sure to look at our St. Croix Condo Map to see where they all are.

When speaking of St. Croix condos size matters. The larger the unit the more expensive, but think about how you may use the condominium. An extra bedroom may come in handy for guests and family. Once you own a condo in St. Croix you may find more people than you think eager to visit. If you decide to rent a unit you purchased, extra bedrooms give you access to a larger pool of potential renters. You can always rent a 3 BR unit to a couple, but you never can fit a family of 6 into a 1 BR. After you think you narrowed things down to a few condo complexes look at what the offer for sizes, no place provides a full range from studio to 3 bedrooms all in the same place. Make sure the complex you like offers the size you desire.
